Elite Squad (Tropa de Elite)

Elite Squad is one of the best films made in Brazil. Directed by José Padilha it's the first film made in Brazil that shows the life of a policeman, showing the criminous as the villains without any restrictions and showing the peaple who buy drugs the real responsable for the criminality. The film was set in Rio de Janeiro in 2007, and tells the history in 1997 of Captain Nascimento (Wagner Moura), a leading policiman of one of the companies of "BOPE" (Taitical and Special Police Squad or Batalhão de Operações Policiais Especiais), on he's daily fight against the criminalls in the irregular parts of the city the "Favelas". On this parts of the city, criminalls who sells drugs have the control and have guns that is more powerfull than the guns of the Army. He receives one mission of take out all the criminalls, in order to protect the Pope when he stay there. While they are planing the action, starts the COE (Special Operations Course or Curso de Operações Especiais) and the Captain Nascimento is the cordinator, there he knows two guys, the "Aspirantes" André Matias (André Ramiro) and Neto (Caio Junqueira), who wants to join to BOPE. The film shows how hard is to get in on BOPE and also shows how hard is their trainning. Elite Squad, can't be considerated a Police Doccumentary, this film is a Police Drama, that has some parts that aren't real. In my opnion it's one of the best films that I ever seen and I reccomend this film for who is older than fourteen, because some of the scenes are much violent.

very good movie, but the review should have a little bit more information, like ss, imdb etc...

I've never seen this film, but it seems to be really good, 'cause it shows the real hard life in the favelas of Rio. I'd like to see it, but I think I'd be a bit terrified of the violent scenes :D
